The Hockley pendant brings a bold, cone shaped silhouette to a room, its wide angled shade and single strong line making it a distinctive centrepiece rather than a quiet backdrop. This is the Hammered Nickel Hockley in Soot, a dark grey exterior paired with a hand hammered nickel interior that catches the light every time the fitting is switched on.
A Soot Exterior With Hammered Nickel Inside
The shade is spun from solid brass and plated in nickel, then finished on the outside in a matte Soot, a deep charcoal grey with a flat, chalky texture that reads more architectural than metallic. Turn your eye to the inside of the shade and the character changes completely. The nickel plating there is left exposed and hand hammered, so every surface catches and scatters light in small dimples and facets rather than one smooth reflection. The contrast between the flat, dark exterior and the bright, textured interior is what gives this particular finish its presence.

From The Anvil
From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business later moved to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Lighting followed later, made at the same Welsh workshop using the same hand forging and hot forging methods for steel, brass and copper, alongside modern engineering. The hand hammered nickel interior of this Hockley shade is a direct result of that hands on approach, with each dimple worked into the metal individually rather than stamped by machine.
