The Hockley pendant is one of From The Anvil's boldest shapes, a wide cone that tapers from a broad, dramatic mouth up to a neat point at the ceiling rose. This version is finished in Flock matt white, giving that strong silhouette a soft, chalky surface rather than a hard shine.
The Flock Matt White Finish
Underneath the coating, this Hockley is solid brass plated in nickel. The outer face is hand finished in a flock matt white, a completely matt texture with a slightly powdery feel rather than the shine of gloss paint. Look inside the shade and the nickel plating is left exposed, its hammered surface catching light and scattering it in soft, dappled patterns once the bulb is lit.
How It Works
- Takes a single E27 bulb, LED only, up to 6W maximum (bulb not included).
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
- Supplied fully wired with a matching ceiling rose and all necessary fixings.
- Comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard.
- Shade measures 510mm across and 290mm tall, with a 120mm ceiling rose.

From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The same hand finishing that goes into every piece of hardware they make is what gives this Hockley pendant's Flock coating its soft, chalky texture, since no two coats are ever machine perfect.
