The shade is spun from solid brass, plated in nickel, then finished on the outside in a deep, matt Elan Black. Turn it over and the inside tells a different story. A warm, hammered nickel surface catches and bounces the light back into the room. That contrast between the flat black exterior and the textured, reflective interior is what gives this pendant its character.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting, and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop, and the Hockley pendant carries on that same hand finished approach in every shade that leaves it.
