A Dome Shade With A Hammered Nickel Glow

The Harborne pendant takes the classic factory dome shape and gives it a moody finish. Seen from below, the inside of the shade is hammered nickel, catching and scattering the light from the bulb in soft, dappled patches. Seen from any other angle, the outside is a deep, matte soot grey that reads as understated rather than industrial.

The Soot Finish

This one starts life as solid brass, spun into shape and plated in nickel. The exterior is then finished in Soot, a dark charcoal grey with a flat, non reflective surface. Inside the shade, the nickel plating is left exposed and hand hammered, so the two finishes play off each other every time the light is on.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged there today, and brass and copper are hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The Harborne pendant's hammered nickel interior is a direct product of that same hands on approach, shaped rather than simply printed or pressed.

What bulb does the Harborne pendant in Soot take?
It takes one LED bulb with an E27 fitting, rated at 6W maximum. The bulb is not included and needs to be purchased separately.

Is this pendant dimmable?
Yes. It is dimmable as long as it is fitted with a dimmable LED bulb.

What does the Soot finish actually look like?
Soot is a dark, matte grey on the outside of the shade, sitting over a solid brass body plated in nickel. The inside of the shade keeps the hammered nickel finish, so the two tones contrast with each other.
