The Birch Pale Grey Finish

The dome is spun from solid brass, plated in nickel, then painted in a matte Birch pale grey on the outside. Inside, the metal is left hammered and unpainted, so the nickel plating catches and scatters the light rather than reflecting it in one hard line. It keeps the pendant's classic rounded silhouette while giving it a softer, more contemporary edge than a plain metal finish would.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The Harborne pendant's spun brass dome and hand applied Birch finish both carry that same workshop background through to the finished light.
