The Brindley wall light is built on an adjustable arm, with a knuckle joint at the wall plate and another at the shade, so the beam can be angled up, down or across a room. This version pairs that adjustable design with a soft, earthy Heath green exterior for a fitting that reads as considered rather than purely functional.

Hammered Nickel, Finished in Heath

The shade is spun from solid brass, then plated in nickel and left hammered on the inside, so the surface catches light unevenly rather than reflecting it flat. The outside is finished in Heath, a muted, earthy green that sits closer to olive than bottle green. Once lit, the hammered nickel interior glistens gently against the darker exterior, giving off a soft, dappled wash rather than one hard beam.

Where It Works Best

Its adjustable arm makes it useful either side of a bed, where it can be angled to light a book without spilling light across the whole room. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware that still hand forges steel and hot forges brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later, produced at that same Welsh workshop, and this Brindley wall light has its hammered nickel shade finished there by hand before the Heath colour is applied.
