The Brindley wall light is built with two knuckle joints, one at the wall plate and one at the shade, so the whole arm can be angled up, down or across a wall rather than staying fixed in one direction. It is a practical shape as much as a decorative one, made to throw light exactly where it is aimed.

Finished in Dingle, a Rich Green Over Hammered Nickel

The shade is spun from solid brass and plated in nickel, then hand hammered before being finished in Dingle, a deep, rich green that sits over the metal rather than replacing it. The hammered texture stays visible under the green coating, so the surface catches light unevenly rather than reflecting it flat, while the inside of the shade is left in polished nickel to bounce light back out once it is lit.

How It Works

• Wall mounted fitting with an adjustable arm, held by two knuckle joints so the shade can be angled where it is needed.
• Supplied with a wall plate, ready to be wired in by a qualified electrician.
• Takes one LED bulb rated up to 6W with an E14 fitting, bulb not included.
• Dimmable if fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
• Shade measures 139mm in diameter and 124mm high, with a projection of 224mm from the wall. The wall rose measures 105mm in diameter and 20mm deep.

Where It Works Best

Because the arm can be angled, this Brindley wall light works well either side of a bed for reading light, or spaced along a hallway or staircase where a fixed downlight would not reach as far. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware that still hand forges steel and hot forges brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley wall light's Dingle finish is applied by hand at that same Welsh workshop, over a shade that is spun and hammered rather than cast.
