A Directional Wall Light With a Soft, Hammered Glow
The Brindley wall light is a single, adjustable fitting from From The Anvil, hand spun from solid brass and plated in nickel before being finished in Birch, a pale grey that softens the metal's shine. It throws its light in one direction rather than spreading it evenly around the room, so it works well wherever a focused pool of light is wanted rather than a broad wash.

Underneath the Birch coating, the inside of the shade keeps its hammered nickel finish, so the surface catches and scatters the light unevenly instead of throwing a single flat beam. The outer shade and arm are coated in the soft pale grey Birch tone, while the wing nut joints and rim stay in bright nickel, giving the fitting a quiet contrast between the two finishes.

- Fixes to the wall with a circular backplate measuring 105mm in diameter and 20mm deep.
- The shade measures 139mm in diameter and 124mm high, and projects 224mm out from the wall on its adjustable arm.
- Takes one LED bulb rated up to 6W with an E14 fitting, bulb not included.

Where It Works Best
Its focused, directional light suits a hallway where a single pool of light is useful, and works well either side of a bed as a reading light that will not spread into the rest of the room. From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware that still hand forges steel and hot forges brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley wall light is spun and finished at that same Welsh workshop, with its Birch coating applied over the hammered nickel by hand.

Is the Hammered Nickel Brindley wall light dimmable?
Yes, as long as it is fitted with a dimmable LED bulb. A standard, non dimmable bulb will not allow the light to be dimmed even with a compatible dimmer switch.
Does it come with a bulb?
No. It takes one LED bulb rated up to 6W with an E14 fitting, sold separately.
How far does the shade sit from the wall?
The shade projects 224mm out from the wall on its adjustable arm, so it sits well clear of the wall surface.
