The Brindley pendant follows a classic deep dome shape, the kind that has hung over farmhouse kitchens and workshop benches for generations. Look up into it though and there is a distinctive twist: the inside is left in hammered nickel, which scatters the light in soft, dappled patterns rather than one flat beam.

The Teasel finish

This particular Brindley is spun from solid brass and plated in nickel, then finished on the outside in Teasel, a soft, parchment toned off white with a gentle warmth that sits easily against most wall colours. The nickel plating inside is left exposed and hand hammered, so it catches and bounces light rather than reflecting it back in one point. It is a quieter, more textured take on the usual smooth painted pendant.

• Takes one LED bulb only, 6W maximum, E27 fitting (bulb not included)

Where It Works Best

Because the drop height can be adjusted, this single pendant works well hung low over a dining table, grouped in twos or threes above a kitchen island, or used alone to bring a warm pool of light to a living room corner or a hallway.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The Brindley pendant carries that same hand forged and hand finished approach, hammered by hand at the workshop that still makes the brand's ironmongery today.
