A Muted Green Dome With a Bright Nickel Interior

The Brindley pendant is a single hand spun dome that pairs two finishes in one fitting: a soft, earthy green exterior and a bright, hammered nickel interior. Once lit, the nickel throws the light back down in a warm, dappled pattern rather than a flat beam.

It hangs on an adjustable black fabric cable, so it can be lowered as a single pendant over a dining table or hung in twos or threes at slightly different heights above a kitchen island.

Finished in Heath, an Earthy Green

Each dome starts as solid brass, hand spun into shape and plated in nickel before the outside is finished in Heath, a muted, earthy green. The nickel plating is left exposed inside the shade, where its hammered texture catches and scatters the light, while the green exterior gives the fitting a quieter, more grounded look than a bare metal finish.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop.

This Heath green Brindley is spun and plated at that workshop before it ever gets its colour, so the nickel underneath and the green paint on top both pass through the same hands.

Questions People Ask

Why is the inside of the shade a different finish to the outside?
The dome is nickel plated first, then painted Heath green on the outside only, leaving the hammered nickel exposed inside the shade to reflect light once it's lit.

Is this pendant dimmable?
Yes, as long as it's fitted with a dimmable LED bulb. A non dimmable bulb won't allow the light to be dimmed even with a compatible dimmer switch.

Does it come with a bulb?
No. It takes one LED bulb with an E27 fitting, rated at 6W maximum, sold separately.

Can the drop height be changed after it's installed?
Yes. It's supplied with 1.5m of black fabric cable, which a qualified electrician can trim and rewire to set the exact height needed.
