A Factory Shape, Softened in Matt White

The Brindley pendant borrows its dome shape from old factory lighting, but this version is finished in a chalky Flock matt white that gives it a much softer character. Turn it on and the polished nickel lining inside the shade catches the light, throwing a warm, dappled glow across the room.

Hammered Nickel, Cast in a New Light

Under the matt white paint sits a shade spun from solid brass and plated in nickel. Look inside and you will see the hammered texture of the metal still visible beneath the plating, catching every bit of light the bulb throws back up into the shade. The contrast between the flat white outside and the bright metal inside is what gives this pendant its character.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. This Brindley pendant carries that same hand finished approach, its nickel plating and hammered texture worked by hand rather than stamped out by machine.

• What bulb do I need for this pendant? It takes an LED bulb only, up to 6W, with an E27 fitting. The bulb itself is not included.
• Can I dim this light? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable LED bulb. The fitting itself does not include a dimmer switch.
• How long is the cable and can I hang more than one? It comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard, so you can set the drop height to suit your ceiling, and it is easy to hang two or three together above a kitchen island.
• Is this pendant made to order? Yes, it is handmade at From The Anvil's Welsh workshop once you order it, which means it cannot be returned after purchase.
