The Brindley pendant takes a classic dome shape and gives it a striking twist. This version pairs a deep, twilight toned Dusk exterior with a hammered nickel lining, so the same fitting reads moody from the outside and glows with warm texture once it is switched on.

Hammered Nickel and Dusk

This Brindley is spun from solid brass, plated in nickel and finished in Dusk, a dark blue grey that shifts between charcoal and navy depending on the light around it. The inside of the dome is left in polished hammered nickel, its dimpled surface catching and scattering light from the bulb. Outside it is smooth and matte, inside it is bright and textured, so the pendant looks a little different depending on whether you are looking up into it or across the room at it.

• 1.5m of black fabric cable is provided as standard, so the drop height can be set to suit your space.
• Takes an LED bulb only, 6W maximum, E27 fitting. The bulb is not included.

Where It Works Best

Hung low over a kitchen island or dining table, the hammered nickel interior throws a warm pool of light down onto the surface below, while the Dusk exterior keeps the fitting itself understated against the ceiling. Because the drop height is adjustable, it also works well grouped in twos or threes along a run of worktop, or hung singly in a hallway or living room where you want one clear focal point rather than a wash of light.

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later moved to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, with lighting produced at the same Welsh workshop. This Brindley pendant carries that same hand finished approach, with its nickel plating and Dusk coating applied by hand rather than mass produced.
