From The Anvil Hammered Nickel Brindley Pendant - Birch (Pale Grey)

The Brindley is one of From The Anvil's classic domed pendants, spun from solid brass and plated in nickel. This one is finished in Birch, a pale grey that gives the outside a soft, contemporary colour while the inside stays bright with a hammered nickel lining.

Birch, A Pale Grey Finish

Birch sits between a warm white and a muted grey, so it reads as calm and neutral against most ceilings and walls rather than stark white. Turn the shade up and the inside is left in polished hammered nickel, its faceted texture catching and scattering light rather than throwing it in one direction. The lamp holder and cord grip are left in a darker, aged finish, giving a small contrast at the top of the shade.

Where It Works Best

Because the drop height can be adjusted, the Brindley works well grouped in twos or threes above a kitchen island, or hung singly over a dining table. It suits living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms and hallways, anywhere you want one clearly defined pool of light rather than an even wash.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later moved to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop. The Birch finish on this Brindley pendant is applied by hand there, one shade at a time.
