A Bold Cluster in Slate Grey

The Brindley cluster pendant groups five to six dome shaped shades onto a single black ceiling rose, each one hung at a different length so the group falls at staggered heights above a table or stairwell. It shares the same confident dome silhouette as the rest of the Brindley range, but here the outer face is finished in a mid grey Slate tone that reads as a soft charcoal rather than a bright metallic, giving the group a quieter, more contemporary look.

The Slate Finish

Each shade is made from chrome and nickel, with a hammered texture pressed into the metal so light catches unevenly across the surface once a bulb is fitted. The outer face of the dome is coated in the mid grey Slate colour with a matte, almost powdery finish, while the inner rim stays in bright polished nickel. That contrast is what gives the pendant its glow. The matte grey exterior stays understated in daylight, and the reflective hammered nickel interior throws a warm, dappled pool of light once it is switched on.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. This Brindley cluster carries that hand finished approach into a fitting with several shades grouped together, with each one hammered and finished by hand rather than pressed out identically by machine.
