A Cluster That Fills a Space With Character
The Brindley Cluster Pendant gathers five to six domed shades onto a single ceiling rose, each one hung at its own staggered height so the group reads as one sculptural fitting rather than a row of lights. In the Dusk colourway, the effect is quietly dramatic, a deep blue grey that catches the light differently from every angle.
Hammered Nickel and Dusk
Each shade starts life as solid brass, spun into its dome shape before being plated in nickel. The rim keeps a lightly hammered texture, so the plating glints rather than sits flat, and it throws a soft, dappled pool of light once a bulb is switched on. The outer surface of the dome is then finished in Dusk, a dark blue grey that reads almost charcoal in low light and takes on a cooler, steelier tone in daylight. The nickel rim stays exposed at the base of each shade, giving the dark exterior a bright edge to frame the light.
How It Works
- A single ceiling rose holds five to six pendant cables, each ending in its own domed shade, so the cluster can be arranged in a spread rather than a straight line.
- Each shade takes a 6W maximum LED bulb with an E27 fitting. Bulbs are not supplied.
- Dimmable, provided dimmable bulbs are fitted.
- Each shade measures 260mm in diameter and 270mm in height, with a minimum hanging height of 1500mm from the ceiling rose. The rose itself measures 400mm in diameter and 30mm deep.
- Supplied with fixings for ceiling mounting.
We recommend that this fitting is installed by a qualified electrician.
Where It Works Best
The staggered drop and generous spread make this a fitting for a room with height to play with. It suits a dining table where the cluster can hang low and centred, a kitchen island where it doubles as task lighting, or a stairwell where the different heights carry the eye upward. It also works well in a living room or bedroom as a statement piece over a seating area or reading corner, and in a hallway where a single striking fitting sets the tone for the rest of the house.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged and brass and copper still hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, and lighting became part of the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop. The Brindley Cluster Pendant carries that same hand finished approach, with each shade spun and plated by hand rather than turned out identically on a production line.
Good to Know
- Every From The Anvil fitting is handmade to order at the workshop in Wales, and is non returnable once ordered.
- Comes with a 5 year warranty.
- Wipe the shades with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which can wear through the plating over time.
- We recommend all lighting is installed by a qualified electrician
Questions People Ask
- How many shades come with this pendant? The Brindley Cluster Pendant is supplied with five to six domed shades on a single ceiling rose.
- Does it come with bulbs? No. Each shade takes a 6W maximum LED bulb with an E27 fitting, sold separately.
- Can it be dimmed? Yes, as long as dimmable LED bulbs are fitted.
- What is the Dusk finish like in person? It is a dark blue grey shade exterior with a hammered nickel interior and rim, so it reads dark and matte from a distance and catches a metallic glint up close.
