The Hockley pendant is one of From The Anvil's largest shapes, a wide cone that commands its own space. Cast in solid copper and finished in Heath, a deep earthy green, it pairs a quiet matte exterior with a hammered copper interior that catches the light every time the bulb is switched on.

The Heath Finish

Heath is a muted, mossy green that sits somewhere between olive and khaki. It coats the outside of the shade in a smooth matte layer, while the inside is left as raw hammered copper, so the glow from the bulb reflects off a warm, textured surface rather than a flat one. The contrast between the matte green outside and the polished copper inside is the whole point of this finish. It looks calm from across the room and rich up close.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later moved to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, where it grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The Hockley pendant's solid copper shade is shaped at that same Welsh workshop, using the hot forging process the company has built its name on.
