The Flock Matt White Finish

This particular Hockley is finished in Flock, a chalky matt white that sits over the solid copper base. The white exterior gives it a soft, modern feel that suits pale or panelled interiors, while the inside of the shade is left in natural hammered copper. That contrast is the whole point of this finish. From outside the pendant reads calm and contemporary. Switch it on and the hammered copper interior throws a warm, dappled glow across the room.

Where It Works Best

Its scale makes the Hockley a strong single fitting over a kitchen island, dining table or hallway console. Hang two or three together and it works just as well as a cluster, adding real drama over a bigger table or an open plan living space. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged and brass and copper still hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, and lighting like the Hockley is made at the same Welsh workshop. The copper used in this pendant's shade comes from that same forge, hand finished before the Flock coating is applied.
