A Softer Take on an Industrial Classic

The Harborne pendant borrows its shape from old factory lighting, then softens it. Under a smooth painted dome, a deep hammered copper interior throws back a warm, textured glow. It looks equally at home above a farmhouse table or in a newly renovated kitchen.

Finished in Tump

This version is finished in Tump, a pale, muted green with a hint of grey running through it, like lichen on stone. The colour sits flat and matte on the outside of the shade, while the inside is left as solid hammered copper, planished by hand so each panel catches the light a little differently. That contrast between the quiet exterior and the warm metal interior is what gives this particular pendant its character.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later on, made at the same Welsh workshop, and this pendant's hand hammered copper interior is a good example of that hand finishing still at work today.

• Is the Harborne pendant made from real copper? Yes. It is spun from solid copper, with the Tump green finish painted on the outside and the inside left as natural hammered copper.
• Can I use a dimmer switch with this pendant? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable LED bulb. The pendant itself does not include a dimmer switch.
• What size bulb does it take? It takes one E27 LED bulb rated at 6W maximum, which is not included and needs to be bought separately.
• How long is the cable? It comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard, along with a matching ceiling rose and all the fixings needed to hang it.
