The Harborne pendant is a single, wide domed ceiling light, hand spun from solid copper at From The Anvil's own workshop. Its rounded, classic profile gives it real presence overhead, and the hammered copper lining inside the shade catches the light rather than reflecting it flat.

Outside, the dome is coated in Slate, a cool mid grey that sits calmly over the warm copper base. Inside, the copper is left exposed and hand hammered, so the two surfaces read as different materials even though they started life as the same sheet of metal. Lit from below, the hammered copper throws a soft, dappled glow rather than a single hard beam, and pairs well with a cooler or brighter bulb to balance the warmth.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware that still hand forges steel and hot forges brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The Harborne's copper dome is spun and its interior hand hammered at that same Welsh workshop, with the Slate coating applied by hand over the top.

Questions People Ask

Why is the inside of the shade a different colour to the outside?
The Slate finish is applied only to the outer dome. The inside is left as hammered copper, which is why the two surfaces look different once the pendant is lit.

Is the Harborne pendant in Slate dimmable?
Yes, as long as it's fitted with a dimmable LED bulb. A non dimmable bulb won't allow the light to be dimmed even with a compatible dimmer switch.

Does it come with a bulb?
No, bulbs are sold separately. It takes one LED bulb rated up to 6W with an E27 fitting.

Why is this pendant non returnable?
It's made to order at From The Anvil's workshop in Wales rather than held as ready made stock, so orders can't be returned once placed.
