The Harborne pendant is hand spun from solid copper, but this version trades the metal's natural warm shine for something quieter. A chalky matt white finish called Flock covers the outside of the dome, so the shape stays the same broad, rounded silhouette the Harborne is known for, while the colour reads as calm and contemporary rather than industrial.

The Flock Finish

Flock is a matt white paint finish applied over the solid copper shade, giving the outside a soft, chalky look rather than a hard gloss. Turn it over and the story changes completely. The inside is left as natural, hand hammered copper, its dimpled texture catching the light and throwing a warm, dappled glow down and around the shade once a bulb is fitted.

Where It Works Best

The Harborne's wide dome and pale exterior make it easy to place. Hang a single one over a dining table for a soft focal point, or group two or three above a kitchen island for a bolder run of light. It also works well in a living room or hallway, where the white Flock finish sits quietly against most wall colours while the copper interior still gives off a warm glow.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop, and this Harborne's solid copper dome, hammered by hand on the inside, comes from that same forge.
