From The Anvil Hammered Copper Harborne Pendant - Bluff (Warm Grey)

The Harborne is a classic dome shaped pendant, the kind of light that has hung over farmhouse tables and kitchen islands for generations. What sets this version apart is the contrast inside the shade. From the outside it reads as a soft, muted grey. Tilt your head and look up into it, and the whole inside glows warm copper.

The Bluff finish

This Harborne is spun from solid copper, then finished on the outside in Bluff, a warm taupe leaning grey that sits somewhere between stone and slate. The inside of the shade is left as natural hammered copper, its surface covered in small dimpled marks left by the forming process. That hammered texture catches and scatters the light rather than throwing it in one hard beam, so the glow it gives off is soft and a little uneven in the best way.

How It Works

• The hammered copper interior acts as a reflector, bouncing light down and outward for a warm, diffused glow rather than a single hard beam.
• Supplied fully wired with a matching ceiling rose, 1.5m of black fabric cable, and all the fixings needed to hang it.
• Takes a 6W maximum LED bulb with an E27 fitting. The bulb itself is not included.
• Dimmable, as long as it is fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.

Where It Works Best

Its 400mm diameter gives it real presence, so it suits a kitchen island where two or three hung in a row create a strong, even line of light, or a single fitting centred over a dining table. It works just as well on its own in a living room or hallway, wherever a room needs one confident pool of light rather than several small ones.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The Harborne's spun copper shade and hammered interior are shaped at that same workshop, using the hot forging methods the company built its name on.

Questions People Ask

Does the Harborne Bluff pendant come with a bulb?
No. It takes a 6W maximum LED bulb with an E27 fitting, and the bulb is bought separately.

Can this pendant be dimmed?
Yes, as long as it is fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb. It is not dimmable with a standard, non dimmable LED.

What is the inside of the shade made from?
The inside is left as natural hammered copper, which reflects the light and gives the pendant its warm glow, while the outside is finished in the Bluff grey colourway.

Is this pendant returnable if I change my mind?
No. Every Harborne pendant is handmade to order in Wales, so it cannot be returned once it has been ordered.
