The Harborne pendant takes a classic rounded dome and gives it a quiet, contemporary finish. In Birch, a soft pale grey, the shade sits calmly on any ceiling until it is switched on. Then the hammered copper interior takes over, catching the light and scattering it in a way a plain painted shade never could.

Pale Grey Outside, Copper Within

This shade is spun from solid copper, then coated in a matte pale grey Birch finish on the outside. The inside is left as natural hammered copper, so the light that reaches the room has passed over a warm, textured surface first. That gives a softer, more dappled glow than a plain metal shade, and it pairs well with a cooler or brighter LED bulb if you want to balance the warmth out.

Where It Works Best

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. That same copper forging is what gives the Harborne its solid base, shaped and finished by hand before the Birch coating goes on.
