A Wall Light Built to Angle and Adjust

The Brindley wall light is a solid copper fitting with a dome shaped shade and a jointed arm that swings and tilts, so you can point the light exactly where you want it. It mounts flat to the wall on a circular copper wall plate, with two knuckle joints along the arm giving it real flexibility once it's up.

Finished in Tump

This version is finished in Tump, a soft, hillside toned pale green that sits quietly on a wall rather than shouting for attention. The outside of the shade and arm are painted in that pale green, while the rim and the whole inside of the shade are left in bright, hammered copper. The hammered texture catches and scatters the light once the bulb is on, giving a warm, dappled glow rather than one hard beam. Every joint and fixing along the arm is finished in polished copper too, picking up the colour from the shade interior and carrying it through the whole fitting.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. This Brindley wall light carries on that same hot forged copper tradition, right down to the hammered texture inside its shade.

Questions People Ask

• Can I angle this light after it's fitted? Yes. The arm has two knuckle joints, so you can tilt and swing the shade to point the light where you need it.
• What bulb does it take? It takes one E14 bulb, LED, 6W maximum. The bulb is not included, so you'll need to buy one separately.
• Can I use it with a dimmer switch? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable bulbs. With a standard, non dimmable bulb it will not dim.
• Is the Tump finish only on the outside? Yes. The outer shade and arm are finished in pale green Tump, while the inside of the shade and all the fixings are left in polished, hammered copper.
