The Brindley wall light has a fully adjustable arm, so you can angle the light exactly where you want it. In this Teasel finish, the shade and rose are painted a soft, chalky off white, while the joints, pivots and shade rim stay in bright polished copper. Turn it on and the light spills through a hand hammered copper interior, giving the beam a warm, textured glow rather than a flat white wash.

The Teasel Finish

Teasel is an off white and cream tone, applied over the solid copper body of the fitting. It sits somewhere between a period cream and a modern chalky white, so it reads as neutral on the wall rather than shouting for attention. The contrast comes from the parts left in raw copper, the swivel joints at each end of the arm and the ring around the shade opening, which catch the light and warm up the whole fixture. Inside the shade, the copper is hand hammered, and that texture is what breaks the light up into a soft, dappled glow rather than a single bright point.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged there, and brass and copper hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley wall light carries that same hand finished approach through into lighting, with its hammered copper interior shaped at the same Welsh workshop.
