Solid Copper, Hand Finished in Elan Black

Every Brindley shade starts life as solid copper, spun and hand hammered before the outside is coated in a deep matt Elan Black. The copper is left exposed inside the shade, so switching the light on reveals a warm hammered glow beneath the black exterior. The arm, knuckle joints and wall rose are finished in polished copper, picking up the same warmth as the interior.

From The Anvil

This hammered copper and Elan Black finish reflects the same hands on approach that From The Anvil has always built its range around, worked and finished by hand rather than mass produced. From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop.

What bulb does the Brindley wall light take? It takes one 6W maximum LED E14 bulb, which is not included, so you will need to source one separately.

Can this light be dimmed? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable LED bulb, this Brindley wall light will work with a compatible dimmer switch.

Can I adjust the angle of the shade? Yes, the arm has two knuckle joints so the shade can be tilted and swivelled to direct the light where you need it.
