The Brindley wall light brings an adjustable, industrial style arm to a room. The shade pivots on two copper knuckle joints, so you can angle it up, down or across the wall until the light lands exactly where you want it.
This version is finished in Dusk, a deep, dark blue grey powder coat applied over solid copper. Seen straight on it reads close to charcoal, warming slightly under direct light. The inside of the shade is left as bright, hammered copper, so once the bulb is on it throws a warm coppery glow that contrasts with the cool colour outside.
How It Works
- Wall mounted on a circular copper base plate, 105mm in diameter, with the shade carried on an articulated arm that pivots at two copper knuckle joints.
- Takes one E14 bulb, 6W LED maximum (bulb not included).
- Dimmable, as long as a dimmable bulb is fitted.
- Shade measures 139mm in diameter and projects 224mm out from the wall at full reach.
Where It Works Best
The adjustable arm makes this a good choice anywhere you want directional light rather than a flat wash across the room. Think either side of a bed, over a kitchen worktop, along a hallway, or flanking a fireplace in a living or dining room.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged and brass and copper hot forged there today, using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The Brindley's solid copper shade, hand finished in Dusk, is made at that same Welsh workshop.
