A Soft Pale Grey Finish With a Warm Copper Glow

The Brindley wall light takes the same hand spun shape as the rest of the range but finished in Birch, a soft pale grey that sits quietly on a wall rather than drawing attention to itself. The arm swivels on two copper knuckle joints, so the shade can be angled up, down or across to point the light exactly where it is needed.

Pale Grey Over Solid Copper

Underneath the Birch paintwork this fitting is solid copper, spun and shaped by hand before the pale grey finish is applied to the shade and arm. The inside of the shade is left as bare hammered copper, so once the bulb is on, the light picks up a warm coppery glow that contrasts with the cool grey exterior. The knuckle joints and wing nut adjusters are polished copper too, giving the grey finish a bit of shine at each hinge point.

Where It Works Best

Because the arm can be angled, this wall light works well wherever direct light is more useful than a general glow, in a hallway, either side of a bed, or beside a kitchen or dining table where a bit of task lighting helps. From The Anvil started in 1996, when former metalwork teacher Mark Underhill bought a small ironmongery supplier and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware that still hand forges steel and hot forges brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley wall light is one of the pieces made at that same Welsh workshop, with its copper base spun and its Birch finish applied by hand.

Questions People Ask

Is the Brindley wall light dimmable?
Yes, as long as it's fitted with a dimmable LED bulb. A standard non dimmable bulb won't allow the brightness to be adjusted even with a compatible dimmer switch.

Does it come with a bulb?
No, bulbs are sold separately. The fitting takes one LED bulb with an E14 base, rated at 6W maximum.

Can the angle of the shade be adjusted after installation?
Yes. The arm moves on two copper knuckle joints, each fitted with a wing nut that can be loosened to reposition the shade and tightened again to hold it in place.

Why is this wall light non returnable?
