A Single Dome in Deep Upstream Blue
The Brindley pendant is a single hand spun ceiling light, shaped from solid copper into a rounded dome that suits a period property just as easily as a new build. Its Upstream finish gives it a deep, matte blue exterior, while the inside of the shade is left as polished hammered copper, so the light glows warm even though the outside reads cool and contemporary.
The Upstream Finish
Upstream is a deep, muted blue applied over the outside of the shade, with a soft matte texture that stays consistent from every angle. Turn the pendant over and the inside tells a different story, hand hammered copper, left polished and uncoated, so it catches and reflects the light rather than absorbing it.
How It Works
- Supplied fully wired with a matching ceiling rose and all the fixings needed to hang it.
- Comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable, so the drop height can be adjusted to suit the room.
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
- Takes one LED bulb rated up to 6W with an E27 fitting, bulb not included.
Where It Works Best
Because the drop can be adjusted, the Brindley works well hung singly over a dining table or in a hallway, or grouped in twos or threes above a kitchen island where the hammered copper interior catches the eye from below. Its blue exterior and copper glow suit a kitchen, dining room, living room or hallway that wants a strong splash of colour rather than another neutral metal finish.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop. This Brindley pendant carries that copper forging through to its finish, hand spun and coloured in Upstream at the workshop where the brand began.

What colour is the Upstream finish?
It's a deep, matte blue on the outside of the shade, with the inside left as polished hammered copper.
Is this pendant dimmable?
Yes, as long as it's fitted with a dimmable LED bulb. A non dimmable bulb won't allow the light to be dimmed even with a compatible dimmer switch.
Does it come with a bulb?
No, bulbs are sold separately. The fitting takes one LED bulb with an E27 base, rated at 6W maximum.
Can the drop height be changed after installation?
Yes. It's supplied with 1.5m of black fabric cable, which a qualified electrician can trim and rewire to set the exact height needed.
