A Softer Take on a Workshop Classic

The Brindley pendant borrows its shape from old workshop lighting, a deep dome that throws light down and out. In the Tump finish, that shape gets a much softer character. This is a single pendant, spun from solid copper and finished in a pale, hillside green that sits well against white walls or painted panelling.

The Tump Finish

Tump is applied as a soft, muted sage green over the spun copper body, giving it a matte, slightly powdery surface. Inside the shade, the copper is left bare and hammered by hand, so it keeps its natural colour and texture. Once a bulb is fitted, that hammered copper interior throws back a warm, dappled glow, a nice contrast against the quiet green outside.

Where It Works Best

The Brindley's adjustable drop makes it easy to hang at different heights, so it works well grouped in twos or threes over a kitchen island, or hung singly above a dining table. The soft green also suits a hallway pendant or a quieter living room corner, wherever you want warm light without a bright metallic finish drawing the eye.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting came later, made at the same Welsh workshop, and this hand finished Brindley pendant is a good example of that side of the business.

• Can this pendant be dimmed? Yes. It is dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
• What bulb do I need? It takes one LED bulb, E27 fitting, 6W maximum. The bulb is not included.
• Can I hang more than one together? Yes. Because the drop height can be adjusted, several Brindley pendants can be grouped together, for example in twos or threes above a kitchen island.
• Does it come with a ceiling rose? Yes. It is supplied fully wired with a matching ceiling rose, 1.5m of black fabric cable and all the fixings needed to install it.
