The Brindley pendant is one of From The Anvil's simplest shapes, a single dome shade that puts as much emphasis on what happens inside it as on the metal itself. This version, in the Teasel finish, pairs a soft off white cream exterior with a hammered copper interior that catches and throws light back down into the room.
The Teasel Finish
Teasel is a soft, parchment toned off white, applied over the spun copper body of the shade. It gives the pendant a warm, neutral colour that sits happily against white or pale ceilings, while the exposed rim of hammered copper on the inside adds a warm metallic glow whenever the bulb is lit. That hammering is visible up close, a texture left by traditional metalworking rather than a printed or stamped pattern.
How It Works
- Single pendant, supplied fully wired with a matching ceiling rose and all necessary fixings.
- Fitted with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard.
- Takes an LED bulb only, E27 fitting, 6W maximum (bulb not included).
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
- Shade measures 260mm in diameter and 270mm in height, with a ceiling rose 120mm in diameter.
Where It Works Best
Hang it low over a dining table for a warm pool of light at the table, or group two or three at different drop heights above a kitchen island. It works just as well as a single drop in a hallway, or off to one side of a living room seating area.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. This Brindley shade is spun from that same solid copper stock and finished by hand, so the Teasel colour sits over metal that was shaped, not moulded, at the workshop bench.
