The Soot Finish

The outer shade is powder coated in Soot, a true dark grey rather than a black or charcoal, which keeps it soft and warm looking rather than stark. Turn the shade up and the interior is solid copper, hand hammered so the surface catches light unevenly and looks slightly different depending on the angle you view it from. That texture is a byproduct of the way each shade is worked by hand, so no two will be perfectly identical.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. That same hand hammering process is what gives this Brindley pendant's copper interior its uneven, handmade texture.

Is the inside of this pendant really copper, or just copper coloured?
It is solid copper, hand hammered, which is why the interior has a slightly uneven, textured surface rather than a perfectly smooth finish.

Yes, the drop height can be adjusted, which makes it straightforward to hang two or three side by side above a kitchen island or a long dining table.

What bulb does it take?
It takes a single E27 LED bulb rated at 6W maximum, which is not included, and it is dimmable when a compatible dimmable LED bulb is fitted.
