This single Brindley pendant is hand spun from solid copper, then finished in a cool, contemporary Slate exterior that sits in contrast to the warm copper left bright inside the shade. It has the same rounded, classic dome shape as the rest of the Brindley range, so it suits a modern kitchen just as comfortably as a more traditional room.

The outside of the shade is coated in a matte, mid grey Slate finish, giving it a understated, contemporary look that pairs well with grey or silver toned fittings elsewhere in the room. Inside, the copper is left hammered and uncoated, so it keeps its warm, reflective glow and will continue to develop a little character with age. The contrast between the two finishes is part of the design, not a mismatch to hide.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil started in 1996, when former metalwork teacher and joiner Mark Underhill bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged and brass and copper hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering at that same Welsh workshop, which is where this Brindley pendant has its shade spun, coated in Slate and hand finished inside in copper.

Questions People Ask

Is the Brindley pendant in Slate dimmable?
Yes, as long as it's fitted with a dimmable LED bulb. A standard, non dimmable bulb won't dim even with a compatible dimmer switch fitted.

What does the inside of the shade look like?
The inside is left as bright, hammered copper, uncoated so it keeps its natural warm colour and reflects light back down from the bulb.

Can this pendant be grouped above a kitchen island?
Yes. Because the drop height can be adjusted, several Brindley pendants in Slate can be hung in a row at matching heights above a kitchen island.
