From The Anvil Hammered Copper Brindley Pendant - Flock (Matt White)

The Brindley is one of From The Anvil's most popular pendant shapes, and this version pairs a chalky matt white exterior with a hammered copper interior for a warm flash of colour whenever it's switched on. It's sold as a single pendant, so it works just as well hung on its own over a table as it does grouped in twos or threes above a kitchen island.

The Flock Finish, Hammered Copper Interior

The dome shade is spun from solid copper, then coated in Flock, a soft, chalky matt white that mutes the metal's natural warmth on the outside. Turn it over and the story changes completely. The interior is left in raw, hammered copper, its surface catching and bouncing light in a soft, dappled pattern once a bulb is fitted. It's a quiet, contemporary look on the outside with a warm, traditional glow underneath.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged there today, and brass and copper are hot forged using the same traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting came later, but it's made at the same Welsh workshop, this Brindley pendant included.

Questions People Ask

What bulb does the Brindley pendant take? It takes one E27 LED bulb rated at 6W maximum. The bulb is not included, and it must be an LED bulb rather than a halogen or incandescent one.

Can this light be dimmed? Yes. The Brindley pendant is dimmable as long as it's fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.

How long is the cable, and can the drop height be changed? It comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable and a matching ceiling rose, so the drop height can be set to suit the room, whether that's low over a table or higher in a hallway.

Is the inside of the shade really copper? Yes. The outside is coated in the chalky Flock matt white finish, but the interior is left as raw, hammered solid copper, which is what gives off the warm glow once the light is on.
