The Brindley pendant is a single hand spun ceiling light, shaped with the same rounded, classic dome as the rest of the Brindley range. This version pairs a deep matt black exterior with a hammered copper interior, so the shade reads as a bold graphic shape by day and reveals a warm coppery glow underneath once it's switched on.

Hand Finished in Hammered Copper and Elan Black

Each shade starts as a single sheet of solid copper, spun into its dome shape and hand hammered on the inside before the outer surface is finished in a deep matt Elan Black. The hammered texture stays visible through the copper interior, catching the light unevenly rather than reflecting it in one smooth sheet, so the glow underneath has a slightly dappled quality.

How It Works

• Comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable, so the drop height can be adjusted to suit the room.

Where It Works Best

From The Anvil

From The Anvil started in 1996, when former metalwork teacher Mark Underhill bought a small ironmongery supplier and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade pieces and has since grown into a family run manufacturer based in Llandrindod Wells, Powys, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley shade is spun and hand finished at that same Welsh workshop, its black and copper contrast built up by hand rather than by machine.

Questions People Ask

Is the copper interior a lining, or is it the base metal?
It's the base metal. The shade is spun from solid copper, and the hammered copper is left exposed on the inside while the outside is finished in matt Elan Black.

Is this pendant dimmable?
Yes, as long as it's fitted with a dimmable LED bulb. A non dimmable bulb won't allow the light to be dimmed even with a compatible dimmer switch fitted.

Does it come with a bulb?
No, bulbs are sold separately. The fitting takes one LED bulb with an E27 base, rated at 6W maximum.

Why is this pendant non returnable?
Each one is made to order at From The Anvil's Welsh workshop rather than held as ready made stock, so orders can't be returned once placed.
