The Brindley pendant borrows its shape from old factory lighting, a deep dome that throws light where you need it and hides the bulb from direct view. Birch Finish, Hammered Copper Interior

The outer dome is finished in Birch, a pale, chalky grey with a matte surface that softens the industrial shape. Turn it over and the story changes. Inside, the shade is lined with solid copper, hand hammered so the surface catches and scatters light in small, uneven flecks rather than one flat reflection. The contrast between the cool grey exterior and the warm copper interior is the main event here.

Where It Works Best

The dome shape and downward throw make it a natural fit above a kitchen island or dining table, where a focused pool of light is more useful than a wide spread. Because each pendant hangs on its own cable, you can space two or three at slightly different heights above a run of worktop or table for a more relaxed, less matched look.

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Copper is still hot forged there today using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, and lighting like this Brindley pendant is produced at that same Welsh workshop. The hammered texture inside this particular shade is a direct result of that hands on approach, so no two pendants are worked in exactly the same way.

• What bulb does this pendant need? It takes an LED bulb only, E27 fitting, rated at a maximum of 6W. The bulb is not included.
• Can I dim this light? Yes, as long as you fit a compatible dimmable LED bulb. A non dimmable bulb will not dim, even on a dimmer switch.
• How long is the cable? It comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard, plus a matching ceiling rose.
• Can I hang more than one together? Yes. This is a single pendant, so many customers buy two or three and hang them at slightly different drop heights over an island or table.
