A Dome That Catches the Light

The Brindley pendant has a deep, bell shaped dome that widens towards its rim, a shape borrowed from old factory lighting. Hung from a slim fabric cable, it turns a single bulb into a strong, characterful fitting rather than a plain shade.

Hammered Copper, Polished Bright

This version is spun from solid copper and polished to a bright, warm shine on the outside. Look up into it and you will see the inside tells a different story. The copper there is left in its natural hammered finish, so light catches on hundreds of small dimples and throws a soft, dappled glow around the room. One piece of metal, two very different textures.

How It Works

• Comes fully wired with a matching copper ceiling rose and all the fixings needed to hang it.
• 1.5m of black fabric cable is fitted as standard, so the drop height can be adjusted to suit the room.
• Takes one LED bulb, 6W maximum, E27 fitting. The bulb is not included.
• Works with a dimmer switch as long as a dimmable LED bulb is fitted.

Where It Works Best

Its dome shape and drop cable make it a natural fit anywhere you want light aimed down with a bit of presence overhead. Hang two or three at even spacing above a kitchen island, use one on its own over a dining table, or hang it lower in a hallway or living room where the hammered interior can be seen up close.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later moved to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley pendant is spun and finished at that same Welsh workshop, carrying the same copper working skill through to a light fitting.

• Is the Hammered Copper Brindley Pendant handmade? Yes. It's made to order at From The Anvil's workshop in Wales, so each one can have very slight natural variation in the copper finish.
• Can I hang more than one Brindley pendant together? Yes. It's supplied as a single light, so several can be hung at different drop heights, which works well grouped in twos or threes above a kitchen island.
• What bulb does it take? One LED bulb, 6W maximum, with an E27 fitting. The bulb is not included and should be bought separately.
