This Brindley cluster pendant gathers five to six hand spun copper domes on a single ceiling rose, each one finished in Upstream, a river toned blue that sits over hammered copper rather than bare metal. Staggered at different drop heights, the group reads as one sculptural fitting rather than a row of matching lights.

The Upstream Finish

Upstream is a matte blue paint finish applied over solid, hand hammered copper. The exterior carries the cool, calm colour, while the copper is left exposed and hammered on the inside of each dome, so the surface catches light unevenly rather than in one flat wash. Once a bulb is lit, that hammered copper throws a soft, dappled glow with a warm cast, an effect that plays nicely against the cooler blue outside.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The copper used across this Brindley cluster, hammered and coloured in Upstream, comes from that same hot forging process.
