This Brindley cluster pendant groups five domed shades at staggered heights from a single ceiling rose, giving one fitting the presence of a small chandelier. Each shade is finished in a deep matte black, so from a distance the light reads as a bold, graphic cluster rather than a single hanging point.
The Elan Black Finish
The shades are spun from copper and bronze, then coated in a matte Elan Black on the outside. Inside, the metal is left bare and hand hammered, so the coppery tone and dimpled texture show whenever the light is on, glowing warm against the black exterior. It is a fitting that looks graphic when off and warm when lit.
How It Works
- Five domed pendant shades hang at staggered heights from one round ceiling rose
- Each shade takes an E27 fitting, 6W max LED (bulb not included)
- Dimmable if you fit dimmable LED bulbs
- Rose measures 400mm in diameter and 30mm deep, with a minimum hanging height of 1500mm
- Each shade measures 260mm in diameter and 270mm deep
Where It Works Best
The staggered drop and cluster of shades suit a space where you want one fitting to do the work of several, such as over a dining table, above a kitchen island, or dropped down a stairwell where the shades can spread out at different heights. It also works as a statement piece in a bedroom, living room, or hallway with enough ceiling height for the cluster to hang properly.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley cluster pendant carries that same hand hammered copper work into a lighting piece, made at the same Welsh workshop as the brand's ironmongery.
