The Brindley cluster pendant groups five to six hand spun copper shades under one ceiling rose, each finished in Bluff, a warm taupe grey exterior sitting over a hammered copper interior. Hung at staggered heights, it turns the single Brindley shape into a fuller, more layered fixture overhead.

The Bluff Finish

Bluff is a matte, warm toned grey applied over solid spun copper, left hammered on the inside so the light catches unevenly rather than bouncing back flat. Once a bulb is lit, the hammered copper throws a soft, dappled glow that reads noticeably warmer than the cool grey shell around it.

How It Works

• Cluster of five to six pendant shades, each on its own black cable, hung from a single round ceiling rose measuring 400mm in diameter
• Each shade measures 260mm in diameter and 270mm in height
• Minimum finished height of 1500mm, with every cable set to its own drop for a staggered arrangement
• Takes one 6W maximum LED bulb with an E27 fitting per shade, bulbs not supplied
• Dimmable, provided dimmable bulbs are fitted

Where It Works Best

Grouped over a dining table or kitchen island, the staggered shades make a real focal point without needing several separate fittings. It also suits a stairwell or a tall hallway, where the varying drop heights can follow the line of the stairs. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop. Every shade in this Bluff cluster is spun from copper, hammered and painted there by hand, one at a time.
