The Hockley pendant is built around one wide, angled cone shade with a confident, no nonsense shape. Even in a bold colour it still reads as a hand forged piece, because underneath the paint it is solid hammered brass, not a moulded shell. Switched on, it throws a warm pool of light down and lets a little brass glow escape upward through the shade too.
The Upstream Finish
This Hockley is finished in Upstream, a deep, river toned blue that covers the whole outer face of the shade in a flat, matte coat. Turn it over and the story changes completely. The inside is left in polished brass, hand hammered across its surface, so every small dent catches and scatters the light once a bulb is fitted. The contrast between the matte blue outside and the warm hammered brass inside is what gives this particular Hockley its character.

- Designed as a single light fitting.
We recommend that this fitting is installed by a qualified electrician.
Where It Works Best
At 510mm across, this Hockley has enough presence to work as one statement fitting over a kitchen island, a dining table, or in a hallway where you want a strong first impression. It also works well hung in a small cluster, which suits a living room or a larger kitchen where a single shade would look lost.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. Every hammer mark on this Hockley shade is a small trace of that hand forging tradition, still done piece by piece rather than stamped out by machine.
