A Bold Cone With a Softer Side
The Hockley pendant is built around one strong shape, a wide angled cone that throws its light down and out. It reads as a proper piece of design whether it hangs on its own over an island or in a row along a table, and in the Tump finish that boldness comes wrapped in a soft, hillside green rather than bare metal.
The Tump Finish
Tump is a pale, muted green with a slightly chalky, matte surface, more like a considered paint colour than a typical metallic finish. It sits on the outside of the shade only. Turn the pendant up and the inside tells a different story, a warm hammered brass surface that catches and scatters the light once a bulb is fitted. The contrast between the quiet green exterior and the busy, textured brass interior is what gives this pendant its character.
How It Works
- Takes one LED bulb rated 6W maximum with an E27 fitting, bought separately
- Dimmable when used with a compatible dimmable LED bulb
- Supplied fully wired with a matching ceiling rose and all necessary fixings
- Comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard
- Shade measures 510mm across and 290mm high, with a ceiling rose 120mm in diameter
Where It Works Best
Its scale and shape make it a natural fit for a kitchen island, where one Hockley pendant can do the job on its own. It also works well over a dining table, in a hallway as a single striking fitting, or repeated in a small group for extra impact in a living room.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, with lighting like this Hockley pendant produced at the same Welsh workshop.
