The Hockley pendant is one of From The Anvil's boldest shapes, a wide angled cone that throws its light outward and down in a broad, confident spread. In this Teasel colourway the classic silhouette gets a softer, more contemporary finish, ideal wherever you want scale without heaviness.
The Teasel Finish
Teasel is a warm, off white paint finish applied over solid brass, giving the outside of the shade a smooth, chalky cream look. Turn it over and the story changes completely: the inside is left in natural hammered brass, its dimpled surface catching and scattering the light once a bulb is fitted. That contrast between matte cream outside and warm hammered brass inside is what gives this particular Hockley its character.

Where It Works Best
Its wide 510mm diameter makes this pendant a natural fit above a kitchen island or dining table, where a single fitting can do the visual work of several. It also suits hallways and living rooms with enough ceiling height to let the cone hang clear, either on its own or grouped in a row for a bit of drama.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged and brass and copper still hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, and lighting like this Hockley pendant is produced at the same Welsh workshop. The hammered interior on this Teasel shade is a direct result of that hand finishing process.
