The Hockley pendant has a wide, sculptural cone shade that makes a strong single statement over a table or island. In this Dusk colourway the outside takes on a deep, blue grey tone that shifts with the light, while the inside stays true to the solid brass it is forged from.

The Dusk Finish

Dusk is a matte, muted blue grey that reads closer to charcoal than true navy depending on the light in the room. It is applied to the outside of the shade only. Look up into the pendant and the story changes completely, the inside is left as hand hammered brass, polished and unpainted, so every facet catches the light once a bulb is switched on.

Where It Works Best

The 510mm diameter shade gives it real presence, so it suits rooms with a bit of height and space to let it hang properly. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged and brass and copper still hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, and lighting like the Hockley pendant is produced at that same Welsh workshop. That hand finishing is exactly why no two Dusk shades are perfectly identical, each one carries the marks of the hammer that shaped it.
