The Hockley pendant is built around one confident shape, a wide, angular cone that narrows to a neat point at the ceiling. In the Bluff finish that boldness is softened by a warm, muted grey exterior, so the silhouette still commands attention but sits gently in a room rather than shouting for it.

The Bluff Finish

Bluff is a soft, taupe leaning grey applied over solid hand forged brass. The outer surface is matte and even, while the inside of the shade is left in natural hammered brass, its surface covered in small, irregular dents from the forging process. Once a bulb is switched on, that hammered brass throws back a warm, dappled light rather than a flat glow.

• Comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard, giving you room to set the drop to suit your ceiling height.
• Takes an E27 bulb, LED only, up to 6W maximum. The bulb is not included.

Where It Works Best

The shade's 510mm diameter gives it real presence, so it suits spaces where a single fitting can carry the room. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The hammered texture inside this Hockley shade is a direct result of that hand forging process, so no two pendants catch the light in quite the same way.
