An Oversized Cone in Hammered Brass
The Hockley pendant is a bold, wide angled cone light, a single hand finished shade in solid brass that makes a strong statement even before it's switched on. Its scale and simple, sculptural shape give it real presence overhead, whether hung alone or grouped together.
Finished in Hammered Brass
This version keeps its outer surface smooth and highly reflective, while the inside of the shade is hand hammered, leaving a fine dimpled texture that catches and scatters the light. Once lit, that hammering turns a single bulb into a soft, dappled glow rather than one flat beam. Left uncoated, the brass will keep deepening in tone the longer it's used.
How It Works
- Takes one LED bulb rated up to 6W with an E27 fitting, bulb not included.
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
- Supplied fully wired with a matching brass ceiling rose and all the fixings needed to hang it.
- Comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable, so the drop height can be adjusted to suit the room.
- Shade measures 510mm in diameter and 290mm high, with a 120mm diameter ceiling rose.
Where It Works Best
Its wide shade makes the Hockley a natural single fitting over a kitchen island or dining table, where it throws light across a wide area rather than a narrow pool. Grouped in a cluster of two or three, it also works well running along a long worktop or table for a more dramatic effect. It suits kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms and hallways equally well.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop. The Hockley's hammered interior comes from that same hot forging process, shaped and finished by hand rather than pressed by machine.
