The Harborne pendant brings a rounded, dome shaped shade with a hammered brass interior that catches and scatters the light once switched on. This Teasel finish coats the outer shell in a soft, chalky off white with a warm cream undertone, so the shade reads as a quiet neutral by day and glows gold from within at night.
The Teasel Finish
Teasel is a matte off white paint finish applied over solid brass, giving the outside of the shade a soft, slightly warm cream tone rather than a stark white. Inside, the brass is left exposed and hand hammered, so every dimple catches the bulb's light differently and throws a dappled pattern across the ceiling and walls.
How It Works
- Comes complete with a matching ceiling rose and 1.5m of black fabric cable, plus all the fixings needed to hang it.
- Takes an E27 LED bulb up to 6W maximum, bulb not included.
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
- Shade measures 400mm across and 270mm in height, with a 120mm diameter ceiling rose.
Where It Works Best
Its wide dome shade throws a generous pool of light, which suits it well over a dining table or kitchen island. It also works as a single central pendant in a living room or hallway, where the soft cream exterior sits comfortably against most wall colours.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later moved to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later on, made at the same Welsh workshop, and the Harborne's hand hammered brass interior carries that same forge worked character straight through to a finished pendant.
