The Harborne pendant keeps the rounded, factory style dome that From The Anvil is known for, but the Dusk finish gives it a completely different mood. Instead of a bright metal or a pale colour, the outer surface has a deep, twilight toned blue grey that reads as almost charcoal in low light and takes on a blue cast in daylight. It is a striking option for anyone who wants a single, confident pendant rather than a fitting that blends into the room.

The Dusk Finish

Dusk is applied over solid brass, so the shape underneath is the same hand shaped dome used across the Harborne range. The exterior is painted in the dark blue grey Dusk colour, while the interior is left in natural, hammered brass. That hammered texture is hand finished, so each dimple catches the light a little differently, and when the bulb is on it throws a warm, dappled glow down and around the shade rather than a flat wash of light.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. It still hand forges steel and hot forges brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, and lighting like the Harborne pendant is made at the same Welsh workshop. The Dusk colourway is one of several finishes applied over that same hand forged brass base.
