The Bluff Finish

Bluff is a soft, taupe leaning grey that sits somewhere between stone and charcoal, warmer than a true grey and calmer than a true brown. It is a powder coated finish over solid brass, so the colour stays even and matte to the touch. Turn the shade over and the character changes completely. The brass underneath is left hammered and unlacquered, catching the light in small dimples across the whole interior surface.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The hammered texture inside the Harborne's Bluff shade is a direct result of that hot forging process, with each dimple pressed into the brass by hand rather than stamped by a machine.
