This Brindley wall light turns a directional reading or accent light into something with real presence. Underneath a river toned Upstream blue paint finish sits a hammered brass base, so the colour catches the texture beneath it rather than sitting flat.
Hammered Brass Under Upstream Blue
The shade and arm are cast in solid brass, then hand hammered to give the surface a faceted, uneven texture before the Upstream blue finish is applied over the top. Light catching the dips and ridges gives the blue a subtle depth rather than a flat, sprayed look. Inside the shade the brass is left polished and uncoated, so it reflects the bulb's glow back out in warm gold tones.

- Takes one 6W max LED E14 bulb, not supplied

- Lamp measures 139mm in diameter and 124mm tall, projecting 224mm from the wall

Where It Works Best
The directional arm makes this a good choice wherever you want light aimed at a specific spot rather than spread evenly across a room. It suits a hallway or kitchen where a single accent is useful, beside a bed in a bedroom for reading, or either side of a fireplace in a living room or dining room.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. This wall light carries that same hot forging and hand finishing work into its hammered brass shade and Upstream blue paintwork.
