From The Anvil Hammered Brass Brindley Wall Light - Teasel (Off White/Cream)

The Brindley wall light is a directional fitting built around a hinged brass knuckle joint, so the shade can be angled up, down or across a wall once it is fitted. This Teasel version pairs a soft, off white painted arm and shade with a hammered brass interior, giving the light a warm, textured glow rather than a flat beam.

Hammered Brass in a Teasel Finish

The outer arm and dome shaped shade are painted in Teasel, a soft parchment toned off white with a slight warmth to it. Inside, the shade keeps its natural hammered brass surface, left unlacquered so the dimpled texture catches and scatters the light once a bulb is fitted. The contrast between the matte cream exterior and the warm brass interior is the main character of this piece.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop, still hand forged in steel and hot forged in brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The hammered brass interior of this Brindley shade is a direct product of that forging process, shaped and finished by hand rather than pressed by machine.
